OUR TEACHERS

All of our teachers are passionate about music and the development of children. All our teachers have had formal training in either Western or Indian classical music and they have also worked extensively with preschool children.

They create a fun, informal, social setting that spurs engagement and supports each child’s musical development.

Priyanka Seth Pandit – Director

Priyanka Seth Pandit has a B.A. in History from Bryn Mawr College and a M.A. in Social Studies Education from Teachers College,Columbia University. Priyanka taught History and English for seven years at the Chapin School, New York City. She completed her Music Together® training program in February 2005 . In 2010 she received her Certification I as Master Teacher from Music Together, Princeton. Priyanka also has certificates in Dalcroze Eurythmics from the Kauffmann center in New York, as well First Steps in Music for Preschool and beyond from the Samuel Barber Graduate Institute at Westchester University. Priyanka founded the first Music Together program in India in 2005 and has served over 3000 families in 6 different locations in Mumbai, till date.

Priyanka has learned, taught and played the Indian classical bansuri beginning in 1988 and has trained in western classical music from the age of four. She has trained and taught teachers of Music and early childhood education in non-profit organisations such the Akansha Foundation and Muktangan Foundation. She has run a variety of music programs and social initiative programs at the American School of Bombay from 2010 till date. In 2014, she created and launched Music in Measures which is a reserach-based world music and literature program for babies and preschoolers. Currently, she is working as the Creative Director and Workshop Conductor for Camlin Kids Power, a social initiative program that teaches underprivleged children about burning social causes, through the medium of art and music.

Medha Rajadhyaksha

Medha has learned and performed Indian classical music for over fifteen years (vocal). She has worked with babies and preschoolers in some of Mumbai’s most prestigious nursery schools. She continues to use music and movement in teaching toddlers a variety of skills and activities. She has completed her Music Together teacher training program in April 2010 in New York and is a registered Music Together teacher.

Swati Sanghvi

Swati moved to India after completing her MS (Human Resources) at Temple University(USA) and is now a full time mother of two girls aged six and three. She has been part of several sessions of Music Together with her younger daughter. She enjoys being with kids whether it was teaching tennis to kids while she was in college or giving lectures about Life in India at schools in Philadelphia where she lived before she moved to India. Swati is an apprentice of Priyanka Seth Pandit. She has completed her certification for Music Together in March 2016 and for Music in Measures in June 2015.

Sonali Mody

Sonali completed her Early Childhood Teacher Education Diploma from Shikshaa in 2012 and has been closely working with children ever since. She was a Primary teacher at Aditya Birla World Academy for 6 years, until 2018. She is very passionate about the performing arts and has learnt various dance styles at Shiamak International, Mumbai as well as the Broadway Dance Center, New York. Currently, she is also learning the piano and taking vocal classes at Furtados. She completed her Music Together teacher training programme in November 2018 in New York and is a registered Music Together teacher.

KAREN DSOUZA

Karen Dsouza

Karen Dsouza has a management degree in Finance, and quit a 11-year corporate and development sector career to passionately pursue music and voice. For over 7 years she worked in various capacities with an incubator that funded early stage social entrepreneurs. Karen is trained in Music Together, a globally acclaimed music and movement program for early years. Karen is a full-time vocalist and dubbing artist, and can be heard as the Hindi singing voice of ‘Mi’ in the Kristen Bell produced series Do Re Mi and Callie the cat in Pete the Cat on Amazon Prime among others. She is also one fourth of The Sassy Songbirds, an all-woman singing group. Karen teaches early-years music through The Music Circle.

Ria

Ria has surrounded herself with western classical music ever since she was a child. She started playing the piano at the young age of 3. She has also learnt the violin, guitar, drums and cello. Ria has completed her Bachelors in Psychology. She is a AMI trained Montessori Directress and is the youngest teacher at Harmony Montessori. She is an integral part of the prestigious Paranjoti Academy Chorus. She deeply understands the value of music in every walk of life. She cherishes the joy of working with young children and watching them grow musically with age. Ria hopes to continue working with children in the different academic and recreational settings. She is an avid animal lover. Her hobbies include skating, travelling and attending live gigs.
